Modu Magazine: A Tale of Urban China

Korea’s New Songdo Digital City

New Songdo City, a Korean “smart city” appearing as an ultra-digitalized and sustainable gated community, under construction 60 km south of Seoul, uses new digital technologies at every stage of the inhabitants’ daily life, ParisTech Review reports.

Other new cities in China, Algeria, and the United Arab Emirates are built in this all-digital manner, and are extreme examples on the use of new information and communication technologies (NICTs) at the service of urban management. An article in the ParisTech Review analyzes, based on various examples from around the world, the benefits and setbacks of applying new technologies to urban spaces.
