High hopes for China’s social housing
Fear of a housing crisis and population movements has made social housing a priority for the Chinese government, the Wall Street Journal reports. A slowdown in the growth rate, unstable real estate bubbles and yet at the same time, the population is calling for an improvement in their living status.
The construction of social housing is seen as a catalyst for needs and requests, providing both economic and social stability. Thirty-six million “subsidized” apartments will be under way by the end of 2015.
