Local authorities of Jinhua asked Ai Weiwei to design a colossal park in the memory of his father, the poet Ai Qing. On the North bank of Yiwu River, he invited 17 architects from around the world to create a collection of artworks within the park. Those multifunctional pavilions include a café (Wang Shu), public conveniences (studio DnA), tea houses (Liu Jiakun) or elements with artistic purpose only, like the Newspaper Stand (Toshiko Mori) or the Reading Space (Herzog & De Meuron). In its middle, the park hosts an Archaeological Archives building.
