After the destructive earthquake of 2008, in a strategic agrarian area of China near Chongqing, the afflicted town of Dujiangyan has elaborated a reconstruction plan (2008–2011) and an urban and rural plan (2008–2020) in coordination with Tongji University. These plans are relying on former constructions, ancient irrigation infrastructure and agrarian network outlines. In addition, both of them also tend to preserve local environment and promote ecology as well as eco-tourism.
